My love of photography began when my father bought me a SLR camera for Christmas. It was a second hand Practika TL-Electro, complete with a couple lenses. That day I began taking pictures and so quickly fell in love with photography as an expressive medium.
Over the years cameras have changed and the technology now at our fingertips and what we can do with it is a space age away from that dusty old Practika, the desire to take of great images is still the same. Every time I release the shutter on my camera I strive to capture a “decisive moment”.
Training as an actor and working professionally within theatre I began taking pictures for friends’ portfolios. From these favours I began to take professional headshots for other actors and created an excellent sideline to my theatre work.
Being an actor, I believe in the story-telling potential of theatre and this has had a major influence on my work as a photographer. For me I believe in producing images that do tell a thousand words and creating pictures with energy that engage the viewer and express a narrative.

Everything I do boils down to how I capture, manipulate and express the light in front of my camera lens. Put that way, it sounds quite simple!
